Autumn in the north

Short days, long shadows and the best colour of the year. I spent a week driving along the coast with two bodies and far too much film. The light after four o'clock does most of the work; my job was mostly to stop the car in time.
Most frames were shot on a 400-speed colour stock, pushed one stop on the greyest days. The grain is part of the picture, and I have stopped fighting it.
